News arrives this morning of the murder of Dr. George Tiller, the late-term abortionist. He was gunned down by an unknown gunman as he arrived at Reformation Lutheran Church in Wichita where he was a member.
This is a horrible event, every bit as horrible as the thousands of late-term abortions he performed. It is critical that the pro-life community stands up loudly and condemns this act every bit as loudly as we condemned his acts for they are equal in their sinfulness.
WE know that pro-life is pro-all-life from conception to natural death. And while the pro-abortion side likes to say that pro-lifers are hypocrites and do not stand up against the death penalty, etc. we know this is untrue. We cannot give them an opportunity to say “I told you so” and make us hypocrites.
George Tiller was one of the great mass-murderers of our time. However, he did so within our broken law – and was never convicted of killing outside of it. For that, we all share responsibility and have his victims’ blood on our hands. Yet we must not let them separate the victims of George Tiller from the victim that is George Tiller.
The pro-abortion community now has another martyr. We must demand justice for him with the same fervor as we have demanded justice against him. We must also work to make sure that his legacy of death is not continued in Kansas or anywhere. This is the only greater good that can come from this evil act. And while that was likely the end sought by Tiller’s gunman, we still cannot allow the pro-abortion side to make this their “9-11″ and rally the troops to “rebuild bigger and better.”
We must also pray for his soul and for that of his killer.

The whole thing is sad. Sad that our society would kill its own children, sad in the barbarity of the late term procedures especially, because here even the pro-choice supporters agree there is a viable life!
But sadder still is that this gunman missed the whole pro-life message altogether and made himself just as guilty as the Doctor!
